BeatBox

An integration is when a connection is created between a clinic’s EMR system and Beatbox (CardioScan’s reporting platform).  This connection allows for the secure exchange of information back and forth between these two platforms.

Inbound Integration - when data is imported from the customer’s EMR system into BeatBox.  e.g. when new patient is added, that information is automatically sent from the EMR to Beatbox. 

‍Outbound Integration - when data is exported from Beatbox to the customer’s EMR system.  e.g. when a report is ready, it can be sent straight to the clinic’s EMR system. 

‍Dual Integration - when the integration is setup to allow both Inbound Integration (EMR to BeatBox) and Outbound Integration (BeatBox to EMR).     

While integrations are not required to access reports via BeatBox, high-volume clinics benefit from integrations due to an increase in efficiency in processing patients, less data-entry and errors, quicker access to reports and better data lineage (tracking of patient data).

Each integration can vary in complexity depending on the clinic’s network environment and EMR software.  As a guide for typical pricing: 

• High-volume clinics – the integration is typically completed at no charge to the clinic.

• Mid-volume clinics – the integration is typically completed at no charge, with a cost schedule being introduced if the project exceeds the agreed ‘reasonable’ hours to complete.  

• Low volume clinics – integrations are not recommended for low volume clinics, as data entry and reporting is easily managed directly in BeatBox.  

Integrations can occur over a variety of network protocols like FTP, SFTP, HTTPS, TCP IP, HL7, Listener and UNC Path over a VPN.

• Encryption in Transit and at Rest: TLS v1.2 with strong ciphers to protect data in transit and AES-256 to encrypt data at rest.

• Password Hashing: User passwords are hashed and salted with a modern hash function.

• Multi Factor Authentication: MFA available to everyone and reenforced MFA on privileged accounts.

• Role Based Access Control: BeatBox follows RBAC to restrict access based on user roles within an organisation.

• Security Operations Centre (SOC): 24/7 SOC monitors different levels of our global infrastructure i.e Log Monitoring (SIEM), Intrusion Detection (Host and Network), Endpoint Detection & Response, File Integrity Monitoring (FIM) and ongoing Vulnerability Scanning to identifying threats at all levels.

• External Security Audits and Penetration Tests: Annual tests by an independent third party.
